GIX is the generic term for our drywall screws, which can be easily recognized by their black color. This coloration is the result of phosphating, a corrosion protection that prevents the screws from absorbing moisture and showing through on the wall surface. In addition, phosphating on the screw head ensures perfect adhesion for subsequent joint filler.Drywall screws feature a special head known as a bugle head. Its shape prevents penetration of the sensitive cardboard layer of gypsum boards when fastening them to the drywall substructure. GIX drywall screws therefore ensure a secure hold of the boards and allow precise countersinking with millimeter accuracy.Three thread types are available for drywall screws: GIX A with fine thread is ideal for fastening into metal studs. GIX B with coarse thread is designed for wood stud framing. GIX C is suitable for working with gypsum fiberboards. GIX D, with its self-drilling tip, is designed for secure fastening into thicker metal studs up to 2 mm material thickness. This means: for every material combination in drywall construction, GIX drywall screws provide the right solution.
