This special drive is a so-called hexalobular internal. Compared to less precise-fitting drive types like Phillips or cross recess, the contact surface is many times larger with our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR bits are always positioned optimally in the screw head. The maximum, precise force transmission from the screwdriver to the screw that results from the use of T-STAR plus thus enables simple and ultra-fast work with much more efficiency than with other drives. What this means for you: No more annoying bit slips from the screw head – you can take care of serial fastening in no time at all!
Installing window and door frames with plastic and aluminium profiles calls for a head shape that can withstand high pulling forces whilst not being too thick. Our flat countersunk head ticks both boxes. It finds its place on our SPAX-RA full-thread screw, which is used for the plug-free fastening of window and door frames. As you might expect, the T-STAR plus drive takes care of force application. What this means for you: No more obstructive screw heads inside window and door frames.
In contrast to the partial thread, the full thread on most of our full-thread screws covers the entire – or most of – the screw length from tip to head. The more thread turn a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be absorbed by these screws. We make particular use of this in structural wood construction, where our full-thread screws are called upon for heavy-duty wood connections. What this means for you: Wood connections with full-thread screws offer maximum reliability when it comes to resilience, and there's no need to use any ugly zinc-plated fittings!
The CUT point on our SPAX screws enables the ultra-fast and effective insertion of our wood screws without pre-drilling. In combination with the serrations, the arrow-shaped CUT point reduces wood splitting and tearing. The CUT point also enables extremely precise and sturdy setting of the screw tip on smooth surfaces. What this means for you: You can skip an entire work step, since pre-drilling is no longer required for most woods. Saves both your screwdriver battery and your own energy – no more annoying slipping on smooth wood and derived timber products.
Screws made of stainless steel A4 can basically do everything that a screw made of stainless steel A2 can. However, the higher alloy grade 4 also makes these screws resistant to saltwater and acid. This means that A4 stainless-steel screws are ideal for use in coastal areas. Here, the high salt content of the air and water would quickly cause A2 stainless-steel screws to rust. If you are planning to build wooden decking around a swimming pool, you should also remember that chlorinated water contains acid, too. What this means for you: Stainless-steel A4 screws offer the ultimate corrosion protection for all applications – and we really mean all of them!
