Window construction is a project with special requirements. Not only for DIY enthusiasts and professionals themselves, but also for their screws. After all, windows are made of a wide range of different materials, and some make installing window fittings nothing short of a Herculean feat. Like thin profiles made of plastic and metal, for instance, or material combinations like plastic profiles with internal steel reinforcement. So how can such projects still succeed? With SPAX, of course.
What else should be kept in mind?
The thread on screws has to be designed to ensure a firm hold in both softer, thinner materials like plastic and in hard steel. As a result of the high dynamic load when operating a window and the often heavy weight of window sashes, the sturdy connection of window fittings is crucial. This is no easy task with comparatively small screws. The screws also need a special point geometry capable of enabling fastening in wood, plastic and metal.
