Concealed wood connector SXHC

Dimensions
  • For the non-visible connection of main beam to secondary beam: right-angled, oblique or inclined (rafters)
  • Connectors can be completely milled in (concealed) or screwed on directly (with shadow gap) – aesthetically attractive designs possible
  • Fast connection assembly – rapid installation
  • Connector tightens due to conical sliding surfaces – construction is always tight
  • Connection can be dismantled as often as required – also ideal for temporary structures, such as trade fair booths
  • Load capacity is determined by the number of screws on the main beam and the screw length on the secondary beam – flexibility depending on load
  • Up to two connectors beside each other possible = double the load capacity (min. spacing must be observed) – flexibility depending on load
  • Connection options: wood to wood – SPAX wood connector screw and SPAX full thread flat countersunk head 4CUT (4 mm for SXHC70, otherwise 6 mm)
  • Image shows product version 40 x 85 x 16 mm – SXHC85
One of the biggest advantages of bolt-only connections is the fact that these connections are virtually invisible. However, this is also possible with our concealed connectors, namely the SXHC, which is used for connecting timber secondary beams to a timber main beam. The aluminum connector consists of two parts, one of which is bolted to the secondary beam and the other to the main beam. Due to the conically formed sliding surfaces, a permanently tight and load-bearing connection is created when the secondary beam is inserted, which can also be released easily and as often as required at any time. Our concealed connector is secured against unintentional unhooking by means of an inclined screw that is accessible from above. The connector part on the main beam can be recessed into the wood, which results in almost no joint when installed. If it is not recessed, a shadow gap remains. Both 90 and angled and inclined connections can be realized. The load-bearing capacity is determined by the number of screws on the main beam on the one hand and the screw length of the SPAX fully threaded screws in the secondary beam on the other. To double the load-bearing capacity, up to two concealed connectors per connection are possible. However, you must then pay attention to the minimum distances. The SXHC concealed connector is screwed on using SPAX wood screws and SPAX fully threaded screws with countersunk heads. What this means for you: Visually sophisticated and heavy-duty beam connections can be produced in just a few steps- the load-bearing capacity is thus increased flexibly and easily.
