Universal screw WIROX

  • Washer head without dome (screw does not protract)
  • Back wall is easier to detach and reattach without causing damage – when moving home, for example.
  • Simple, seamless connection
  • The large screw head applies greater contact pressure
  • Greater pull-out resistance than with nails
  • No pre-drilling required

This special drive is a so-called hexalobular internal. Compared to less precise-fitting drive types like Phillips or cross recess, the contact surface is many times larger with our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR bits are always positioned optimally in the screw head. The maximum, precise force transmission from the screwdriver to the screw that results from the use of T-STAR plus thus enables simple and ultra-fast work with much more efficiency than with other drives. What this means for you: No more annoying bit slips from the screw head – you can take care of serial fastening in no time at all!

In furniture assembly, standard nails offer little resistance to pull-out for the back wall in body edges. Our flat flange head screw for back-wall fastening offers a durable alternative. The large flat head has no dome, thus protecting the material by distributing the pressure over a larger area. The flat flange head screws for cabinet connections replace the frequently used combination of screws and threaded sleeves. They are simply screwed into the 5 mm Euro-standard hole – they centre themselves and pull the two bodies together with great force. With a thickness of just a few millimetres, the head of the cabinet connector screws doesn't get in the way of additional cabinet installations, such as drawer runners. What this means for you: Sturdy cabinet bodies thanks to perfectly installed back walls, connections that can be loosened at any time.

In contrast to the partial thread, the full thread on most of our full-thread screws covers the entire – or most of – the screw length from tip to head. The more thread turn a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be absorbed by these screws. We make particular use of this in structural wood construction, where our full-thread screws are called upon for heavy-duty wood connections. What this means for you: Wood connections with full-thread screws offer maximum reliability when it comes to resilience, and there's no need to use any ugly zinc-plated fittings!

The term 4CUT is used to describe the fact that the point of our screws is not rounded, but rather shaped like an arrow. These four edges displace the wood fibres upon insertion and thus create space for the core diameter of the screw. The otherwise inevitable expansion at the core of the wood is effectively reduced, minimising wood splitting around the edges. The required cordless screwdriver torque is also reduced, since the screw core no longer needs to ""squeeze"" into the wood. What this means for you: Practically no pre-drilling required any longer – even in the edge areas of your workpiece that are normally prone to splitting! The 4CUT means you can skip an entire work step.

Effective corrosion protection is a must for screws used for outdoor structures not exposed to the elements. For this, SPAX has developed the WIROX coating, which far outdoes conventional galvanisation in terms of both protection and durability. Our WIROX-coated screws are significantly more resistant to mechanical stress than their counterparts with chromate conversion coating. No chromium(VI) is used for WIROX, which means that even after years in an area not directly exposed to the elements, the screws are not only just as resilient, but are entirely environmentally friendly, too. Our WIROX screws are the ideal choice for all open structures without direct exposure to the elements, such as carports and pergolas. For areas with extreme weather exposure, such as decking, we continue to recommend our stainless-steel screws. What this means for you: When you use our corrosion-protected screws outdoors, you can be safe in the knowledge that your structure is well fastened – in outdoor areas not directly exposed to the elements, WIROX keeps our screws statically rigid and reliably protected over many years. So there's no need for visual inspections every year!

The typical SPAX T-STAR plus drive is a so-called hexalobular internal. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and ensures optimal positioning for the T-STAR plus bits in the screw head. By enabling maximum force transmission from the screwdriver to the screw, T-STAR plus guarantees simple and ultra-fast work with much more efficiency than with other drives.

In furniture assembly, nails offer little resistance to pull-out for the back wall in body edges. Our flat flange head screw is a better alternative, since the large flat head distributes the pressure over a larger area. The flat flange head screws for cabinet connection replace the screw and threaded sleeve combination: they are screwed into the 5 mm Euro-standard holes – they centre themselves and pull the two bodies together. The head of the cabinet connector screws doesn't get in the way of cabinet installations, such as drawer runners.

Unlike the partial thread, the full thread spans the entire screw length. The more thread turn a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred by these screws to the wood. Our full-thread screws are predominantly used for heavy-duty wood connections.

The term 4CUT stands for the arrow-shaped design of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres upon insertion and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The expansion at the core of the wood is reduced, preventing wood splitting around the edges. The required cordless screwdriver torque is also reduced, since the screw core no longer needs to ""squeeze"" into the wood.

With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to galvanisation when it comes to corrosion protection. No chromium(VI) is used for WIROX, which means that even after years in an area not directly exposed to the elements, the screws are not only just as resilient, but are entirely environmentally friendly, too. WIROX screws are the ideal choice for all open structures without direct exposure to the elements, such as carports and pergolas.
