For efficient installation, approximately 10 screws per m² are required. The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a type of internal star drive. Its design increases the contact surface, allowing the T-STAR plus bits to fit perfectly in the screw head. This ensures optimal power transmission from the tool to the screw, enabling faster and more efficient work than with other drive types. Thanks to its small cylindrical head, the SPAX screw for acoustic panels fits perfectly into a 4 mm acoustic joint, allowing for nearly invisible fastening as the head sits flush with the wood surface. The full thread provides maximum holding power and prevents material shifting. Unlike partial threads, the full thread extends across the entire screw length, allowing higher tensile and compressive forces to be transferred from screw to wood. The term 4CUT refers to the square shape of the screw tip. These edges displace wood fibers during screwing, making space for the screw core. This reduces expansion pressure and prevents splitting near edges. It also reduces the required torque, as the screw core doesn’t have to force its way through the wood. SPAX’s WIROX coating offers superior corrosion resistance compared to standard zinc coatings.
