Short joist hanger SXJHS

Dimensions
  • Innovative joist hanger made of thin 1.5-mm sheet metal. Despite this, it has the same load-bearing capacity as a joist hanger made of 2.0 mm sheet metal – more environmentally friendly and resource-saving thanks to less material and lower weight
  • Locator prong: the third hand during installation, independent grip, both hands free to nail – easier work
  • Reinforcement beading: provides additional stability for the joist hangers – for the highest demands, e.g. 2-axis loading, approved transverse installation
  • Advantage of short version: Installation depth only 50 mm – especially for concealed installation in timber frame construction, no limitation in load capacity compared to long version
  • Partial or full nailing possible – flexibility depending on load
  • Ring marking on nail holes – for correct partial nailing
  • Connection options: wood to wood: with SPAX connector nail or SPAX wood connector screw, wood to engineered wood boards (chipboard and OSB): with SPAX wood connector screw only
  • When using large holes, the following connections are also possible: wood to concrete: with suitable plugs, chemical anchors, anchor bolts, concrete screws, etc. and wood to steel: with suitable metric screws

The SPAX joist shoe SXJHS is the joist shoe variant that is particularly eye-catching due to its short and very slim design. The only 1.5 mm thick plate saves a lot of weight during storage and transport, but is just as load-bearing as our joist shoes with 2.0 mm plate thickness. Two small assembly mandrels at the upper end allow you to first quickly and easily fix the joist shoe in the wood, and then screw or nail it out with SPAX wood connecting screws or SPAX grooved nails according to the static calculation or manufacturer's specifications. If only screws are used in OSB boards or particle boards, only SPAX wood connector screws should be used. Small marker rings help to nail out a part in accordance with the approval in a short time. Reinforcing beads on the sides give the SXJHS additional stability, especially when subjected to biaxial loads. The short design of only 50 mm is ideal for making the beam shoe disappear completely into an installation level. The joist shoe can be connected to solid wood, to wood-based panels (also as an intermediate layer) and also to concrete and steel via the large screw holes. For you, this means: less expensive storage and transport, simple and fast installation, no long deliberations when partially nailing out.
