The most popular wood-based panels in furniture construction are the so-called MDF panels. MDF stands for Medium Density Fibers, which means that they are very fine-pored and homogeneous furniture boards whose edges can be screwed and nailed, unlike particleboard or coarse particleboard. However, if the edges are not pre-drilled, MDF panels tend to bulge or splice at the panel edges. To prevent exactly this, we have developed SPAX-M: The combination of the CUT tip, which virtually drills the screw hole itself, the razor-sharp wave profile and the small 75� milling head for flush countersinking of the screw ensures that you can screw your MDF components together without any problems. However, we recommend maintaining an edge distance of at least 25 mm to the panel edge even with the SPAX-M. For you, this means: Secure edge screw fastening, no splitting of the panel edges.
