What do I need to know?

All that you need as a base is a substructure made of planed slats, which are simply fastened to the walls with plugs. You can then fasten the individual profiles and panels using our SPAX screws – which can be visible or concealed depending on preference. When it comes to wood cladding, screws need to be able to do more than just keep the elements in place. Because wood profiles or panels are rarely thicker than 20 mm, screws must not split the material. With visible fastening, it is important to ensure the precise positioning of the screw tip. Only this way can it be inserted without damaging the sensitive coating. Of course, the screws also need to be a good aesthetic match for the project – both in terms of shape and colour.
